Magicziggy 8th January 2012, 11:41 AM I just started watching an old film, and it opens with this poem on screen. Now being in a somewhat reflective mood I decided to google it. I mean, I know it ... I read it many many years ago. The Moving Finger writes; and, having writ, Moves on: nor all your Piety nor Wit Shall lure it back to cancel half a Line, Nor all your Tears wash out a Word of it-- Omar Khayyam (http://wonderingminstrels.blogspot.com/search/label/Poet%3A%20Omar%20Khayyam) Anyone care to add an interpretation. Seems there are two schools of thought. Anyway, I'll come back to this after the film.
