I just finished reading it. I could hear the character Veronica's words ringing in my ears, "You just don't get it, do you? You never have, and you never will."

Did anyone else get it? I suppose I got a sense of an ending, I mean, I worked it out as best I could. But I don't think I got it. Was I meant to?

I have a cousin named Maximo. He was always getting into trouble for stupid reasons.

My uncle, daily, would say "You just don't get it, do you, Max? You just don't get it."

So often would this happen (Max doing something REALLY stupid and my uncle responding with that phrase) that it became a family meme. If my sister did something really stupid, "You just don't get it, do you, Max? You just don't get it."
