Congrats to the first hundred! page 1

I wanted to congratulate the first hundred members on joining us to romp. This morning, I noticed that there are 99 members, and we will likely cross the hundred threshold sometime today, with either a new sign-up, or another sock for a current member.
I also wanted to take this opportunity to thank oblivion. Her hard work server-side (and in the ACP) has made this as smooth and beautiful as...I don't know...something smooth and beautiful.:)

Mars™ Bar Cake
Ingredients
6 (1 ounce) squares bittersweet chocolate
1/2 cup unsalted butter
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
4 egg yolks
4 egg whites
1/2 cup white sugar
2 (2.15 ounce) milk chocolate covered caramel and nougat bars
2 tablespoons heavy cream
Directions
Preheat oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C). Grease and flour a 9 inch springform pan. In the top of a double boiler, heat chocolate and butter, stirring occasionally, until chocolate is melted and smooth. Remove from heat and allow to cool to lukewarm.
Transfer chocolate mixture to a large bowl. Beat in the flour and egg yolks. In a separate large glass or metal mixing bowl, beat egg whites until foamy. Gradually add sugar, continuing to beat until stiff peaks form. Fold 1/3 of the whites into the chocolate mixture, then quickly fold in remaining whites until no streaks remain. Pour batter into prepared pan.
Bake in the preheated oven for 35 minutes. Turn off oven, crack the door, and allow cake to cool in oven.
In a saucepan, melt chocolate covered nougat candy bars with the cream. Pour over cooled cake.

I had no idea how deafening a little silence could be.
Looks like an excellent start to a new forum to me. I believe the reason it's gone so well is the thoughtful, lengthy and unhurried planning period that the originators of this concept (Cunt, devogue, and Elouise) embarked upon.

I'm sincerely confused why this place even exists. It's like you were overburdened with the draconian rules of talkrational and here we are.

There are some differences, mostly attempts to duplicate functionality of phpbb sites that isn't part of vanilla vbulletin. Both sites pretty much look like vanilla vbulletin, though.
I'm going to try some stuff this weekend here at MindRomp. I may wind up replacing some of the current styles.

I don't know how important the minor fiddlings are to many of you, but to me, this place is a dream come true.
I have this notion that here on the internet, in a public forum, there can be a place where everyone can express themselves freely to each other. Free discussion is not really easy to come by. I have travelled through some terrific sites on the way here which missed the mark. Even one where only ONE person ever was banned.
One is too many.
This is beautiful, and I am thrilled that such a dedicated, thoughtful bunch chose to work on the same dream as me.
I am flabbergasted that some of my ideas met with such accord. For example, refusing to protect the privacy of postcard messages...seems small, but I think it will really help us to keep free of certain kinds of manipulation. (what is the word for manipulation when it isn't intentional?)
Say what you want...sounds simple, doesn't it? Simply beautiful to me.
