De-Janitorialise me please, janitors! page 1

Hi power-hungry, living a lie dictators janitors,

As you all know, I had no interest in being an admin (more aptly called a janitor here) and only stepped up to help out with installing a set of smilies.

I was a lady of leisure and now I have a very busy job, so I don't have time to dedicate to even this small task.

I'd like to be able to say that the "What will happen to mindromp" thread didn't have any influence on me asking right now to revert to serf of elouise non-janitor member here, but my last two posts in that thread will indicate otherwise.

It was a great honour and pleasure to be invited to the discussion group that set up this forum. The current set of janitors (and that includes the erstwhile seraph who stepped down due to concerns over the site being technically Australia-based) are a great bunch of trustworthy people.

The very idea that in the setting up of the forum (which involved necessarily monies being raised and stuff being purchased which unavoidably was in individual's names) there was some fundamental flaw created, which means that this very forum and those currently VOLUNTEERING to do the things required* to embody the set of core values decided on by those creating the forum, is ludicrous. Free speech for all. This is my free speech. I am free to say that I sure as hell hope that some persistent and toxic passive-aggressive posts in that other thread by FUWF will not in any way adversely affect this fledgling forum.

* i.e. those to keep the forum churning from both a technical perspective - huge kudos to oblivion, she is tireless and extremely competent - and the mundane minimalist janitorial-style assistance from those initially around to actually be able to help, and for any future members willing to help out and embody the core values.

thanks for taking on the role of smilie czar and getting us set up with an awesome initial set of smilies! I've spent today importing smilies for another forum and it's a task and a half!

If you ever want dominion of the smilies again, you have my bow.

I have a good feeling about things. It's gonna be cool.

Your input in getting this underway has been invaluable too, nostrum. :hug: I understand completely. Be assured that the core values are very important to me, and from what I've been reading from most respondents in that thread, the core values are safe with this community.
