:hair:

Mine are already done...just received my refund from the state, and they withheld $224.50 for the "City of Inglewood, CA"....law enforcement systems:(

Funny thing is, I have never been to Inglewood....and have never received any type of traffic infractions in CA.

I tried calling them to ask wtf is up...but no one will be available to help until Monday.

Has anyone else ever had this happen to them?

LA county just imposed a $1,000 tax on tossing a Frisbee or football on the beach.

They have changed the tax from when I read it a couple of days ago.

When you head down to the beach for a little fun this summer, county officials want you to know about some updated rules. The Board of Supervisors this week agreed to lift an all-out ban on playing with footballs, other balls and Frisbees on the beach, according to a media statement released by the L.A. County Department of Beaches and Harbors.

According to Lucy Kim, from the LA County Department of Beaches and Harbors, a first-time offender will have to pay a $100 fine. For a second offense, beach-goers will face a $200 fine. Three or more infractions within one year will result in a $500 fine, Kim said.

It's not a tax. It's a fine, and it is easily avoided by not tossing a Frisbee or football on the beach. A bit like speeding, really. If you keep within the allowed limits, you don't get fined.

or if the state fixes a 6 lane highway and makes it passable from potholes and lowers the speed limit to 45mph and installs speed cameras, they can collect a ton of tax.

How else to pay for the fixing of the road but to tax every car that takes the route.

another trick in downtown is to time the red lights so that in stop and go traffic cars get caught stopped just after the intersection and get a ticket for running a red light.

If tossing a football or a Frisbee on the beach sounds like a perfect summer pastime, you might want to think twice about doing it on Los Angeles County beaches.

Those two activities will get you fined up to $1,000 if you do it between Memorial Day and Labor Day, thanks to the county's Board of Supervisors.

Sounds un-American doesn't it?

Summers are all about barbeques and beaches, but folks who head to Malibu, Santa Monica or Hermosa Beach when the weather heats up are advised to leave their footballs and Frisbees at home.

The ordinance – all 37 pages of it – actually contains updated rules purportedly intended to protect the public from being injured, although it still permits beach-goers to play volleyball or toss around beach balls.

The essence of the rule forbids anyone to "cast, toss, throw, kick or roll" any object other than a beach ball or volleyball "upon or over any beach" between Memorial Day and Labor Day. Ball throwing can still be done in designated areas, although a permit is required.

That's not all. The same ordinance prohibits digging a hole deeper than 18 inches in the sand except where permission is granted for TV or film production. So your kids with their sand pails can forget about having fun out there, too.

If you are stupid enough to attempt to cross a backed up intersection, that just serves you right. At any rate, this tip remains valid: If you don't break the rules you won't get fined.

If you are ever in Ontario stay out of the left lanes on the four hundred series highways.
Most of the time there is no legal way to drive in them.
The speed limit on the highway is 100km/hr.
But there is another law that says you must go the speed of traffic in the left most lane.
Not "at least the speed limit" but the "speed of traffic" and when the highway is not backed up that is usually at least 20 klicks over.
