Kirk couldn't act. So Picard for the win.

There is a certain charm to Kirk's overacting and the entire original series. It is so idealistic that I can look past the cheesiness.

I watched it first time around and have never had an urge to do so again.

I think you mean Shatner couldn't act. Kirk I would happily have slept with, Shatner not, go figure.

I don't have to watch Shatner, so it's Kirk that I found lame and more than a little absurd.

There is no equal to Jean-Luc Picard/Patrick Stewart. Saying otherwise is pure heresy!!

Benjamin Sisko was better than both of them combined.

Even in "Life Force (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0089489/)" he was at least interesting.

I like all the series as only a geek of the first water can. Sisko is by far my favorite Captain.

I've watched the series through on DVD about 3 times, and watched random episodes fairly frequently.

While I was on vacation, I watched Little Green Men last week. Priceless! I think DS9 had more stand-alone story arcs that could stand on their own outside the series than any of the others did.

I loved that episode! Quark is one of my favorite characters!

Ultimately I think Voyager suffered the worst......it was sometimes just downright terrible to watch. Even though I liked the last season finale.....it was horribly predictable and not, imo, the best option to bring the crew home....the writers could have been a bit more creative.

Okay, I can't do this. Kirk & Picard both dwarf her.

Between Kirk and Picard, I just can't choose. But in Generations when the two team up... together they were greater than the sum of their parts. :911:

TNG died when Reg Berkley was used to justify Troi's existence.

Like 80% of Starship crew he used the holodeck to live out the fantasy of inseminating Ensign's Roe.

But Troi cured him like a Ballymena homosexual at a big Belfast city anti-anus fling.

If I recall correctly, "alt.ensign.wesley.die.die.die" was sort of a spinoff of "alt.french.captain.borg.borg.borg", which was a comment on "alt.swedish.chef.bork.bork.bork", where that whole trend started.

And then there was "alt.adjective.noun.verb.verb.verb": a sort of meta-comment on the whole trend -- a group where every line of every post was supposed to follow that format.

Someone posted the Lord's Prayer there. Kinda painful to read.

You never saw Picard fighting over a lady, you did however see ladies fighting over Picard, however....Kirk....does....have.....a certain.....je....ne....sais quoi. And the Shatnor was on Columbo and never had a silly verbal slap fight with James Corden.

Conclusion :

Picard > Kirk
Shatner > Stewart

Kirk could have been replaced with a dildo in that movie.
If Picard had had any kind of weapon he would not have needed Kirk's help.

Long ago (pre web*) I posted a book signing schedule for George Takei on usenet. It seems I was the only friend-of-a-friend of his who was on the 'net. So lots of people momentarily thought I was working for him in some sort of official publicist capacity, until I told them otherwise. I had never even met him at that point.

Our mutual friend (also an actor) was "killed" by him in a non-Trek-related TV drama in the '90s.

And that's one of my irrelevant vaguely Trek-related anecdotes.
