MindRomp Mafia Rules and Peanut Gallery page 1

This is a low-flavor game. Day 1 will end at 1 PM GMT Wednesday/8 AM US ET. Nights will last 12 hours and after day 1, days will last 24 hours. I think most players are familiar with the "usual rules", but I will spell them out for the record:

- no private communications unless your role pm specifies otherwise.

- no zombie play in the game thread or peanut gallery. No gameplay by living players in the peanut gallery.

- do not edit your posts.

- do not directly quote or otherwise verbatim reproduce PMs from me. it is ok to paraphrase. check with me beforehand if you have any questions about what is permissible.

- If I feel that a player's lack of participation is screwing up the game, the player will be substituted or godkilled at my discretion.

There is a possibility that the game may be delayed 24 hours, if there's a strong member interest in MindRomp joining the internet blackout. The blackout's beginning coincides with the game's first nightfall. If we join the blackout, I'll announce the day 1 lynch result 24 hours later and we'll proceed with Night 1 at that point.

Look, can I suggest that you all look closely at the people BW-ing me as a lynch choice. If I'm lynched, I'll flip town, and my lynch will have been advocated by at least one scum. No-one's provided any good reason for it anyway, so it's fucking sus as.

what do you mean losing posts? it's impossible for them to disappear just for a few people, either they are in the database or not.

what do you mean losing posts? it's impossible for them to disappear just for a few people, either they are in the database or not.


some times the last couple of pages don't show ..I know the mafia thread is up to page 59 but as far as I can see it's still on 56 ,Postspy takes me to the more recent posts but looking in the thread directly or new posts doesn't .

I should be able to tell you when I get home to my PC and tell it to accept cookies from here . I think it might have been a problem before on TR from this machine .

I didn't notice posts being lost, but there were a couple of instances where my post was the last on a page at one point, and when I refreshed the page I found my post was at the top of the page. I didn't check, but assumed it was the top of the next page, but I'm not sure now I've read the problem bolero and feck are having. Either way, weird.

That is normal vbulletin behavior. If you start a post that will go to the next page, it will initially show up at the bottom of the page you are currently viewing. With a refresh, or another click on the thread link, the post displays on the next page.

I would suggest increasing your number of posts per page. At 15 posts per page, this can happen frequently, and you may miss that there were posts which were entered while you were typing yours.

ha ha, I was not literally speaking of her character. My guess is because she is the admin, and therefore has to make decisions that don't please everyone. People get pissy at leaders of any kind.

But mafia rules are usually enforced by good GMs.

It's under discussion. Making the session cookie expire after 15 minutes could have potentially annoying effects on some non-mafia players.

Yesterday for my tutorials I had a tennis ball and a basketball to play with for demonstrations of basic physics! At one point I threw the tennis ball across the room to bounce off the wall, which it did. But after bouncing it hit one of the students and apparently it hurt a lot. W/e, friggin sissy.

I also dropped the tennis ball on top of the basketball, to do that demonstration of momentum conservation where the tennis ball goes flying and the basketball doesn't bounce quite as high. One time the tennis ball hit me in the face and the other time it hit me in the balls. I feel as if it's okay that I accidentally hurt some of my students because I got hurt more.

I'm a pretty average TA. I keep students' attention but it's questionable whether I actually succeed in conveying anything other than my enthusiasm.

In terms of marks on tests, the students in my tutorial sections didn't do any better or worse than average last semester, so at least I'm not a bad TA.

So how many scum did the Seer catch, how many scum did the Vig kill and how many kills did the Doc stop ?

that's not a fair way to ask the question, the seer is not only there to catch scum but also to clear town.

aslo the doc is there to scare scum from obvious nk's.
