Anyone else interested in news and current events?

Should the Politics subforum be extended to include news and current events .. or should they be separate?

I think having both subforums makes sense. There'll obviously be some overlap, but that is not really a problem.

News and Current events can include disasters and articles of interest.

Politics is.. well.

I can see two forums. I can also see an argument for one Politics/News forum at least for now, to avoid having many forums with low activity.

I think in the long run Politics will become a busy forum. At the moment, not so much. If we go with one forum now and split into two later, then we'll have a legacy of news threads to decide whether to move.

Leaning toward 2 forums.

Stuff like the Italian cruise ship belongs in news. I vote for two forums.

Can we separate News from US presidential politics (and UK politics as well for that matter when we have an election ) ?

They are combined on some other forums ... seems to work well enough. I'm easy either way.

I think I'll extend the Politics subforum to include News and Current Events ... due to that overlap that Seraph and Feck mentioned.

We can separate them at any time.
