Many years ago we were picking goldtops on the slopes of that hill (it really is not a mountain) while hanggliders participating in one of the early Australian Hanggliding Championships soared and swooped above our heads. The competition took a week or two and the site chosen on the day depended on the wind direction. Two others used on the occasion were Blue Cow and Wattamolla, I think.

Context is everything. These guys took around half an hour to get ready then another 10 -20 mins to wait for the right breath of wind.

There were two paragliders after them. Later, I was driving and one of the paragliders and the red hanglider landed in a field next to me. I was able to give the paraglider a lift to his car and he pointed me to a great little bushwalk.
