What are you having for xmas dinner? page 1

DH wanted to cook a standing rib roast. I wanted to cook either lamb or duck. The kids wanted honey basted ham.

We are having honey basted ham.

And gorgonzola stuffed twice baked potatoes, chipotle smashed sweet potatoes, green beans, home-made rolls, spinach salad, and pecan pie.

On Wednesday night we fly to Florida to spend a couple weeks with family. I am planning to do a lot of fancy cooking while I am there. Chicken Mole, rajasthani lamb, a Persia inspired chicken curry. A Central American tomatillo-and-chicken dish I made once and have been dying to try again. Maybe a vindaloo. Maybe a gorgonzola pasta dish. risotto...

Chicken and roast veg. Too much of a rush to organize anything else. Had to get a friend to do a bit of shopping. All on track.

We just had a vegetarian Christmas lunch. Italian vege pastries, caprese, potato and pasta salad, punch and a flambe for dessert. Home made subs for a light dinner. And then my wife and I had a Baileys (sent from Ireland from my Mam) and played a new boardgame from Ireland. I'm full and tired.

Lunch. We had fresh prawns, ham, salad, rolls, warm potato salad and mini raspberry pavlovas. First Xmas I've had to do the lot. I'm knackered!

For dinner: fruit salad I'm about to make with all the summer fruits out.

It is not even 2:00 am, but what is planned is turkey and the usual suspects. I fucking love turkey. I also think I will eat my sweetheart tomorrow.
