Hi. I can't find the function to read a thread by author. Am I just not seeing it, or is it not available? Thanks.

It is not available in quite the same way as in phpbb. There are two ways to find all of an author's posts in a thread. One way is to use the "search thread" button at the top of every thread page. enter the author you want to read and click search. You'll get a list of links and previews of all their posts.

The other way is from the thread listing in the subforum. there is a column in the list called "Replies", which has the number of replies in each thread. If you click the number, then you get a list of all the thread participants with the number of posts they have made. If you click the number beside the participant you want to read, then you get the same list of links and previews as in the first search method.

Thank you. Helpful in mafia (for me, anyway).

^ the second method is actually much better for mafia, than the phpbb function.

FF has a function in the members dropdown menu to "only show x's posts". It brings all of the player's posts to the first bunch of pages of the thread. It's even handier in Mafia because it shows the whole post, not just a two line snippet. And because it's a whole post you can multiquote.

I like that modification, but it appears to be something custom-written for FF. I haven't been able to find a similar published mod for vbulletin.

I would actually like a mod that sorts an entire thread by author similar to what ratz has.

Yep, it's a good one.
